NSS Unit Organises Blood Donation Awareness Programme

April 9: The NSS Unit of Upendra Pai Memorial College, Kunjibettu, organized an awareness programme on the importance of blood donation to create awareness among students about the value of donating blood and its role in saving lives.
Dr. Vivek M., Senior Resident, Department of Immunohematology, KMC, Manipal, addressed the students and spoke about the importance of blood donation. He explained that individuals above 18 years of age can safely donate blood twice a year and that Blood donation not only helps in saving precious lives but also contributes to maintaining good health. He also mentioned that several misconceptions about blood donation still exist in society. He encouraged students to overcome such myths and come forward to donate blood.
The programme was presided over by Mrs. Prabha Kamath, Principal of the college. Director Mrs. Asha Kumari and NSS Programme Officer Mr. Rajesh Kumar were also present on the occasion. The programme was attended by faculty members and students of the college.
