Upendra Pai Memorial College, Kunjibettu, Udupi, has fulfilled a long-standing need of the campus by opening a new cafeteria for students. The institution had wished to have a canteen facility for many years, and this long-pending demand was finally realized this year on April 16 with the establishment of the new cafeteria.
The cafeteria has been opened for the benefit of students from all the institutions on the campus, including Commerce, Law, SRS Pre-University College and B.Ed. programmes, providing them with a comfortable space for refreshments and interaction. The facility was inaugurated by Brigadier (Dr.) S. S. Pabla, Chairman of the Manipal Skill Development Centre (MSDC). The programme commenced with a traditional Ganahoma, seeking divine blessings for the new venture. A sapling was also planted on the campus to mark the auspicious occasion.

Pai College of Education; Dr. Padmalatha, Director of Placements and Admissions at UPMC; Mrs. Asha Kumari, Director; and Mrs. Prabha Kamath, Principal of Upendra Pai Memorial College, were present at the event. Faculty members from Vaikunta Baliga College of Law also attended the programme.
Faculty and administrative staff from various institutions functioning under the Dr. T. M. A. Pai Foundation were also present on the occasion. Following the inauguration, refreshments were served to students and guests. The catering arrangements were handled by Mr. Srikant Bhat Nandalike, proprietor of The Indian Kitchen, Manipal. The programme was coordinated by the Administrative Officer, Mr. Ratnakar Samant.
