A career counselling programme for aspiring and newly admitted degree students was organized on April 18 at Upendra Pai Memorial College (UPMC), Kunjibettu, in association with V Reach Academy. The session aimed to help students understand the opportunities available in professional courses such as Chartered Accountancy (CA), Company Secretary (CS), and Cost and Management Accountancy (CMA).
Prior to the programme, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the college and
V Reach Academy to provide training and guidance for interested students in these professional fields.
The programme was inaugurated by Brig. Dr. S. S. Pabla, Chairman of MSDC, who motivated the students to work hard and build strong careers to reach responsible positions with good remuneration. He also encouraged students to consider administrative services as a promising career option.
The counselling session was conducted by CS Santhosh Prabhu, who explained the examination pattern, eligibility criteria, and job prospects related to CA, CS, and CMA, and guided students on the preparation strategies required to pursue these courses successfully.
Dr. Padmalatha, Director – Admissions, welcomed the gathering. Prof. Prabha Kamath, Principal; Prof. Asha Kumari, Director – Compliances; and Dr. Anjaiah, Registrar, MSDC, were present on the occasion. The programme was compered by Prof. Sahana, who also addressed the BCA students and shared information on emerging fields such as AI & ML, Data Analytics, Cloud Computing, and DevOps, highlighting their importance and career prospects.
