The NSS Unit of the college, in association with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI),
Udupi Branch (SIRC), celebrated Independence Day with great patriotic fervour and enthusiasm at
the college. The programme brought together students, faculty members, and members of the ICAI,
Udupi Branch, to commemorate the spirit of freedom and reflect on the responsibilities of citizens
towards the nation.
CA V. Ramnath, Coimbatore, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Addressing the students, he
inspired them to cultivate a deep sense of love and commitment towards the nation and urged them
to contribute to its progress through sincere service and responsible citizenship, wherever they may
be. He emphasised that nation-building is not the responsibility of a few alone, but a collective duty
shared by every citizen. In his address, CA V. Ramnath also highlighted the remarkable contributions
of Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, former President of India, whose life and achievements continue to
inspire generations of young Indians. The celebrations were further enriched by the presence of
members of the ICAI, Udupi Branch (SIRC), including CA Raghavendra Mogeraya, Chairman, and CA
K. Laxmisha Rao, Secretary. Their participation added significance to the occasion and strengthened
the spirit of collaboration between the college and the professional institution.
The students added a vibrant patriotic spirit to the celebrations by singing inspiring patriotic songs,
creating an atmosphere of pride, unity, and love for the motherland. The program was concluded by
Presidential remarks by Mrs Prabha Kamatha, who addressed the gathering by calling the students
to uphold the values of independence in every walk of life.
