A workshop on “Career Opportunities and Professional Skills” was conducted for the final year students of Upendra Pai Memorial College (UPMC) 24th March 2026. The session was led by Prof. Girish Madla, Director, Nature Bound Sahyadri, Ankola, and Visiting Faculty at the Manipal Center for Business Practice, Manipal University.
During the session, Mr. Madla explained the importance of professional courses such as Chartered Accountant (CA), Cost and Management Accountant (CMA), and Company Secretary (CS) and how these qualifications can open up excellent career opportunities in the corporate sector. He also encouraged students to upgrade their professional skills.
The workshop also focused on all aspects of preparing an effective resume or biodata. Mr. Madla guided the students on how to draft a good biodata, the key components that should be included in a resume, and the difference between biodata and curriculum vitae (CV). He emphasized that a well-prepared resume plays a crucial role in creating a positive first impression with employers.
The session concluded with useful tips on how to face job interviews confidently, including preparation techniques and communication skills required during interviews. The workshop was highly informative and beneficial for the final year students as they prepare to enter the professional world.
