The valedictory function of the NSS Annual Special Camp of Upendra Pai Memorial College, Kunjibettu, was held on March 12 at Sri Umamaheshwara Temple, Shivapadi, Manipal.Speaking on the occasion, retired senior sub-editor of Udayavani, Mr. Nityananda Padre, said that NSS helps individuals develop personal, family, professional and social values, thereby promoting social harmony in society.Dr. Padmalatha, Director of Placements and Admissions at UPMC; Mr. Srikanth Prabhu, retired employee of Corporation Bank and member of the Temple Development Trust; Mr. G.K. Patil, retired employee of Udayavani and member of the Temple Development Trust, Mr. Gururaj Bhandary, President of Sneha Sangama, Saralebettu, were present.
The programme was presided over by the Principal, Prof. Prabha Kamath. The Sindhu team won first place in the group discussion competition, while the Kaveri team was adjudged the best team. Vinayak, third B. Com student, was honoured for his support to the camp.NSS Assistant Officer Mr. Chandrashekhar welcomed the gathering, NSS Officer Mr. Rajesh Kumar proposed the vote of thanks, and Kannada lecturer Mr. Shashikanth Shetty compered the programme.
