Open Day Conducted at Upendra Pai Memorial College

Upendra Pai Memorial College organized an Open Day programme on 18 March for prospective students and parents interested in the BBA, B.Com and BCA programmes. The event was graced by Lt. Gen. (Dr.) M. D. Venkatesh, Vice Chancellor of Manipal Academy of Higher Education, along with Dr. Ashok Kamath, Deputy Director and Principal of District Institute of Education and Training Udupi, Brig. (Dr.) S. S. Paabla, and alumna Ms. Shambavi Bhandarkar.
The programme provided prospective students and parents an opportunity to explore the college facilities, learn about various courses and skill-based diploma programmes, interact with faculty members, and make informed decisions about programmes best suited to their interests and career goals.
Addressing the gathering, the Vice Chancellor emphasized the equal importance of general education along with professional education. He encouraged students to learn new skills, adapt to different job profiles, and continue learning to excel in their careers. He also informed the students that a degree from Upendra Pai Memorial College, a sister institution, would help them pursue higher studies at MAHE, Manipal.
Dr. Ashok Kamath spoke on the importance of time management and urged students to make use of time wisely. Brig. (Dr.) S. S. Paabla highlighted how integrating skill diplomas with degree programmes can enhance employability. A career guidance session for the students was conducted by Ms. Shambavi Bhandarkar , university rank holder and proud alumna of UPMC
The day-long Open Day programme also highlighted the importance of the “Earn While You Learn” initiative introduced by the college. Students of Upendra Pai Memorial College also presented a cultural programme as part of the event.
