On August 11, 2026, the Placement Cell and IQAC of Upendra Pai Memorial College, in association with Gurudhama Coaching Centre, Mangaluru, organised a guest talk on “Beyond Graduation: Career Opportunities and Future Skills” for the benefit of final-year students. The programme aimed to familiarise students with career opportunities in the government sector and equip them with the skills required to build successful careers beyond graduation. Mr. Bharathraj, Proprietor of Gurudhama Coaching Centre, Mangaluru, spoke about various opportunities available for youngsters in government sectors and explained the training programmes offered by the centre. Dr. Maheshwari Singh, District Environment Officer, Manipal, was the Chief Guest and, in her insightful address, highlighted career opportunities in government services while also emphasising the responsibility of young people towards protecting and maintaining a clean and sustainable environment. Ms. Manisha from Gurudhama Coaching Centre delivered an introductory session outlining the objectives and scope of the centre and encouraged students to enrol in its programmes. Informative handouts containing details about the coaching centre and its programmes were also distributed among the students. The programme was conducted in the presence of Mrs. Prabha Kamath, Principal, UPMC; Mrs. Asha Kumari, Director of Compliance and IQAC Coordinator; and Dr. Padmalatha, Director of Admission and Placement. The session proved to be informative and motivating, providing students with valuable insights into career prospects, future skills, and their responsibilities as responsible citizens.
