An Orientation Programme for the newly admitted students of the BBA, B.Com and BCA
programmes, along with their parents, was organised on 13 July 2026. The programme marked the
formal commencement of the students’ academic journey and provided an opportunity for them
and their parents to familiarise themselves with the institution, its academic environment and the
wide range of opportunities available for holistic development.
To begin with Prof. Prabha Kamath, Principal, extended a warm welcome to the gathering and
conveyed her best wishes to the newly admitted students
The programme was inaugurated by Dr. H. S. Ballal, Pro-Chancellor, MAHE, Manipal, by lighting the
traditional lamp. In his inaugural address, Dr. Ballal emphasised the importance of nurturing young
minds and preparing students to meet the evolving demands of the professional world. He
highlighted the need to complement academic excellence with strong employability skills, effective
communication, adaptability and a commitment to continuous learning. The programme was
presided over by Brig. (Dr.) S. S. Pabla, Chairman, Manipal Skill Development Centre. In his address,
he underscored the significance of lifelong learning and continuous skill enhancement in building
successful careers. He urged the students to remain curious, embrace new learning opportunities
and develop competencies that would enable them to confidently navigate an increasingly dynamic

the students and parents. The presentation offered an insight into the institution’s commitment to
providing a vibrant and enriching learning environment.
A special moment of the programme was the felicitation of Ms. Kripashree, who secured 7th rank in
the state in II PUC and subsequently joined the BBA programme. Her achievement was recognised
as an inspiration to the newly admitted students and a reflection of the value of dedication and
academic excellence.
